Meet Angelina
Angelina Mondavi is at the forefront of a new generation of winemakers in Napa Valley. She was the first of her sisters to began their career at age 10 assisting the lab manager at her family’s winery, C. Mondavi & Family. After graduating from high school, she attended Villanova University and majored in Chemistry with a minor in Business creating a solid foundation for her future in the wine industry.
Angelina’s first job after graduation was with Hess Collection where she worked as a lab rat during harvest.
In a mover and shaker approach, she took a harvest position at the Yalumba Wine Company in Barossa Valley, Australia. While there she earned a Master’s Degree in Oenology and Viticulture from the University of Adelaide’s Waite Campus.
Since 2007, she has experienced many adventures; starting with assistant winemaker at Pine Ridge Vineyards, and since 2010 she makes wine under the tutelage of Jayson Woodbridge for One True Vine, LLC. Where she is responsible for Hundred Acre, Cherry Pie, and Layer Cake wine brands. In addition, she has a joint venture with her cousin, Robert Mondavi Jr., called Fourth Leaf.
Rounding out her resume, she is the Winemaker and Co-Proprietor for Dark Matter Wines, a joint venture with her three sisters. As a result of her hard work, Dark Matter Wines recently released their fifth vintage, a 2009 Howell Mountain Zinfandel, and soon to be inaugural release of the 2011 Howell Mountain Dark Matter Limitless Cabernet Sauvignon.
